Draperstown's Little Gem

Reviewed September 2011

I bought a voucher of living social and so my partner and I decided to use it last weekend (saturday night) We travelled just over an hour too get there and upon arrival we were greeted by two very friendly and chatty waitresses ( who were obviously just fininshed their shifts as they had their jackets on) but they could not be more helpful. We were shown to our rooms which were like little log cabins. They we very tastefully decorated and the bed was better than my ownat home. (where did u get them??) We had a table booked in the restaurant at 7.00 when we got down we were immediately showed to our table and we got the menu.

I honestly couldn't decide what to get, I wanted it all. I finally setttled for the mushroom for starter followed by the Apparo Chicken while my partner decided on the king prawns and the sirlion steak. We ordered a bottle of the house red which was tasted likemore so we got a second bottle just as our mains arrived. Both starters were delicious and had set a very high tandard for what was to come. But the chefs (compliment to them) did not dissapoint we could not find one fault, well apart from the fact that I was too full and I had to pass on dessert. But my partner got the carrot cake which was moutwatering! We then retreated back upstaris were we were sleeping wonderfully untill some intoxicated residentput of the alarm by mistake.it did take a little while to sort out the drama however the staff were very apolgetic and the wonderful breakfast we got the next morning has made it a distant memory. We will definitey be back. I fail to understand why something as normal as an alarm going off could put some one off going back to this hidden gem. At least the fire alarm was working!! Thanks for the great weekend Apparo i shall be back!
